M-Engineering Porsche 992.1 GT3 / GT3 Touring PDK Tuning

The 992.1 GT3 and GT3 Touring already have an excellent PDK transmission, but there is still room to make the gearbox feel more immediate and more closely matched to how the car is driven. M-Engineering’s PDK2 calibration sharpens shift behavior, reduces paddle-to-shift delay in manual mode and revises the automatic shift schedule for a more responsive and engaging driving experience.

What the PDK tune changes

The biggest change is in how quickly the transmission reacts to driver input. In manual mode, M-Engineering reduces the delay between pulling the paddle and the actual shift event, giving the car a crisper and more direct response. Automatic mode is also recalibrated with a revised shift schedule designed to make the transmission feel more in tune with spirited and performance driving.

Built to work with the ECU tune

This PDK calibration is designed as part of M-Engineering’s complete tuning package rather than as a standalone transmission flash. The PDK2 tune is only available for cars equipped with an M-Engineering ECU calibration and is not compatible with other ECU tunes. That allows the engine and transmission calibrations to work together as a complete package instead of treating each system independently.

Why it matters on track

On a car like the GT3, small delays and inconsistencies in shift response become more noticeable when you are driving at the limit. Faster response to paddle inputs makes it easier to place shifts exactly where you want them, while the revised automatic logic gives drivers who use PDK auto mode a more aggressive and engaging calibration better suited to performance driving.

PDK module service notes

The PDK control module must be removed from the vehicle and shipped to M-Engineering for bench flashing. The module is located beneath the carpet on the rear shelf behind the driver’s seat. M-Engineering notes a typical turnaround of approximately 24 hours after receiving the module.

When sending the PDK module in, your current M-Engineering ECU calibration, vehicle modifications and intended use should be provided so the PDK2 calibration can be matched to the overall setup.
