M-Engineering Porsche 991.2 GT2 RS ECU Tuning with Live Map Switching

The 991.2 GT2 RS has enormous performance potential from the factory, and M-Engineering’s calibration suite is designed to unlock more of it while keeping the car usable, predictable and properly supported by the factory ECU safety strategies. The M-Tuner system gives you a complete tuning platform with wireless OBD flashing, Live Map Switching, datalogging and the flexibility to support everything from a stock street car to more heavily modified track builds.

This package supports the Porsche 991.2 GT2 RS platform including the street car, GT2 RS Clubsport, EVO/MR configurations and the 935.

What the tune changes

M-Engineering recalibrates key areas of the factory engine management system to improve throttle response, optimize air/fuel ratios, increase boost and revise ignition timing. The goal is stronger, more consistent performance from the 3.8L twin-turbo engine while retaining the OEM ECU’s built-in engine protection strategies.

M-Tuner v3

M-Tuner v3 allows supported calibrations to be flashed directly through the OBD port using M-Engineering’s wireless dongle. Unlike the older process, the current GT2 RS package does not require the ECU to be removed and shipped out for normal flashing.

The system also gives you access to useful service and track tools without needing separate hardware.

Live Map Switching

On-the-fly Live Map Switching allows multiple fuel calibrations to be stored in the ECU at the same time. Maps can be selected while the vehicle is running, so you can match the calibration to the fuel being used without reflashing the car every time conditions change.

Standard OTS maps are available around 91, 93 and 100 octane fuel depending on the specific vehicle configuration. Clubsport, 935 and MR/EVO applications are supported on 100 octane only.

If you need a different map arrangement, ethanol blend or more specialized fuel configuration, ProTuning is available.

Calibration stages

M-Engineering offers multiple calibration levels depending on the hardware installed on the car. The correct map should always match the physical configuration of the vehicle.

• Stage 1 / Stage 1+: Intended for cars with stock or lightly modified hardware depending on the specific package selected.
• Stage 2: Intended for cars with the supporting hardware required by M-Engineering’s Stage 2 calibration.
• Stage 3: Cars with upgraded intercoolers continue to use the Stage 2 calibration.
• Stage 4 / Custom: Upgraded turbocharger, built engine and ethanol-blend combinations require ProTuning.

Intercoolers and track use

For cars that see sustained track use, intercooler performance becomes increasingly important as power and boost increase. The GT2 RS generates substantial charge-air temperature under repeated high-load operation, and better intercooling can help control intake air temperature and maintain consistency through longer sessions.

We strongly recommend considering upgraded intercoolers for track-focused GT2 RS builds using higher-output calibrations.

M-Engineering’s current OTS GT2 RS calibrations also include platform-specific changes designed to make the car easier to use and better suited to performance driving.

Fuel and calibration availability varies between applications. Clubsport, 935 and MR/EVO vehicles require 100 octane for the supported OTS calibration.

The GT2 RS can move through a very wide range of hardware configurations, from a lightly modified street car to intercoolers, intake and exhaust changes, upgraded turbochargers and dedicated track builds.
